Preambule

The company Wolframium s.r.o. is a manufacturer of high quality roasted tungsten oxide. It processes tungsten-containing waste, residues from the production of tungsten specific parts and other wastes, most of which contain tungsten. This element is present in a high percentage (60-90%) in the processed raw materials.

WE ARE GREEN in the following ways

Tungsten waste is our raw material

Our company processes tungsten waste as a secondary raw material for subsequent use. We turn waste into tungsten roast by oxidation.

Recycling

Oxidation of tungsten waste ensures a high quality output. This production process ensures a reduced carbon footprint and the possibility of a secondary market for tungsten.

We are energy efficient

Reducing energy intensity is part of resource efficiency. That is why our company uses its own photovoltaic power plant located at our hall. This optimizes the oxidation production process and its outputs.

Permission

  • Authorisation to process tungsten secondary raw materials under REACH registration
  • REACH registration for WO3 processing
  • Permits for tungsten based waste management and treatment
  • Permit for handling and treatment of hazardous waste
  • Preparation for ISO 9001 certification - ongoing

About the company

The company Wolframium s.r.o. is a producer of high quality tungsten roast. After further processing into tungsten powder, it is used in the production of high-tech products such as alloys, tools for the mining industry, infrastructure, automotive industry, energy industry and others.

Wolframium was established on 30.03.2021 with a focus on the roasting oxidation business. Over the next few years, it has focused on processing of specific wastes such as sludge, production waste and residues from the production of tungsten products.

The company is located in North Moravia in the industrial area of the town of Bruntál on Zahradní Street No. 46d.

Company goal

The aim of Wolframium s.r.o. is to recover and recycle this rare chemical element and return it for further processing.

Input materials

The input material is waste from tungsten production with various mixtures of metals, alloys of different chemical elements with different percentages, of tungsten content and hard metal parts. The mixtures of metals have more advantageous properties than the metals themselves. The companys' goal is to recover the rare element tungsten from these mixtures, parts and market them in Europe and also worldwide.

Wolframium s.r.o. focuses on waste recycling of metal alloys such as WNiFeCu, WCu, WAq, WCP and hardmetals such as WCCo. It will expand its recycling capabilities in the future.

We re-process

The company processes the inputs listed below using specially designed technology to process these inputs efficiently. The resulting product is called tungsten roast. The inputs for oxidation are:

  • tungsten sludge
  • cutting inserts
  • drills
  • shavings

Quality management

Wolframium s.r.o. processes mixtures of metals of different chemical elements with different percentages of each element. It focuses on mixtures of WNiFe, WNiFeCu, WCCo and WCP and will expand its recycling capabilities in the future.

Purchase of waste

Everything what we process, we also buy. Do you have tungsten waste? Contact us at wolframium@wolframium.cz

Recycling

Tungsten production waste can be recycled and reused as raw material for new products. This activity is important in terms of protecting the environment and thereby reducing the carbon footprint and restoring rare resources, as it is a secondary replenishment of raw tungsten from the ore.

The company's staff will take care of the entire recycling process (from receiving the input, through oxidation and packaging to handing the output back). The entire process is tailored to the material to ensure optimum quality and energy efficiency.

Products

What is tungsten?

Tungsten is a rare chemical element.

It belongs to the metals and is characterized by considerable chemical resistance. It is the second hardest metal after chromium and has the highest melting point of all metals with best wear resistance.

Due to its very high density, comparable to that of gold, it is used for example for bearings production, counterweight or vibration damper in aerospace, automotive, sports and telecommunications technology. It also serves as a substitute for lead and radiation protection in medical technology.

Combined with carbon as tungsten carbide, it also has a diamond-like hardness and forms the basis for modern cutting and drilling tools for metal, stone, wood and plastic processing. The spectrum ranges from fine-as-a-hair drills for electronic circuit boards to drilling tools for engineering as well as road and rail tunnels.

We help to deliver these features and qualities back to the market.

Roasted tungsten oxide

Roasted tungsten based material is an oxidised mixture of metals obtained by the reprocessing of tungsten and tungsten carbide waste. Wolframium s.r.o. is engaged in the activity of processing wastes with high tungsten content by oxidation. Oxidation of high tungsten waste is a process that involves the reaction of tungsten with oxygen at high temperatures.

Karbid wolframu (WC)

Tungsten carbide (WC) is characterized by a unique combination of properties: extremely high hardness combined with a very high modulus of elasticity and high electrical and thermal conductivity. At approximately 60%, tungsten carbide is the most commonly used tungsten compound and is typically used in WC-Co, WC-Co, WC-Co/Ni/Fe based hard metals or cermets. The quality of tungsten carbide powders is critical to the properties of the alloy.

Tungsten powder

Is used in the form of alloy such as WNiFe. Tungsten alloy has the highest melting point and the lowest vapor pressure of all metals, extremely high density, high modulus of elasticity, low thermal expansion and also high thermal conductivity. Tungsten metal powder is used as a raw material for the production of tungsten carbide and as a raw material for the production of sintered tungsten and tungsten alloys.
